Auscultation apex
Let us now listen to our patient's auscultation at the apex. [Sounds]

Graphic
Our patient's auscultation at the apex includes a normal first heart sound, followed by an ejection sound that does not vary with respiration, identifying it as aortic. This sound is followed by a medium-to-high frequency, early peaking, systolic, crescendo-decrescendo murmur that extends to S2. Note that the murmur is not as loud as in other locations, especially those along the left sternal edge. [Sounds]
