Jugular venous pulse - CVP
Next we will evaluate our patient's jugular venous pulse, first the central venous pressure and then the wave form. Our patient's central venous pressure is normal.

Jugular venous wave form
To help you assess the jugular venous wave form and its relationship to systole, we will place a cotton swab over the carotid vessel. You can then compare the movement of the vein to the movement of the carotid arterial pulse.

When you are finished, choose the best description of the jugular venous pulse in our patient.
